If you’re not signed up with Aeroplan, now’s a pretty good time to do it. When you join during the current promotion, you’ll receive bonus miles (soon to be called “points” under the new program) if you earn at least one mile by September 30, 2020. [Read more…]
Major Aeroplan Changes – Implications For Maritimers
The Aeroplan program is set to undergo a significant transformation on November 8, 2020 and many of the details have just been released to the public. It’s always an unsettling time before impending changes to a loyalty program, so it’s a relief to now be able to examine the differences. My primary concern is how it will affect Aeroplan redemptions out of airports here in the Maritimes. [Read more…]

But will leisure travel become commonplace during this period? And if so, will you be comfortable flying? [Read more…]
Disneyland on Points (Aeroplan, Air Miles, TD Rewards, RBC Avion)

Our parents took us to Walt Disney World in Orlando many times during our childhood and my brother was a big fan of the Star Wars movies. The goal then was to accumulate the right points and miles to make an eventual trip as inexpensive as possible. [Read more…]
Saving For Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge: Part 4 – Flights From Halifax (and Trip Update)
In Part 4 of my series on planning for a Disney trip I turn the focus to booking flights to California or Florida. Once you’ve got a handle on park admission and accommodation, you have to figure out how to get there. So, if you’re not just going to hop in your vehicle and hit the road, it’s time to sort out plane tickets. [Read more…]
Searching For March Break Flight Availability (Air Miles & Aeroplan)
The information in this post obviously reflects a moment in time. Any availability I found might have disappeared by the time I hit the “publish” button on the blog. I just thought it might be worth going through the process of looking for options to redeem miles during Nova Scotia’s March break, just to see what I could find. Many people have to plan their travels around school breaks and using miles is a much bigger challenge when you’re competing with those in the same boat. [Read more…]
