It was announced this week that all Air Miles collectors will now receive Shell Go+ membership benefits for the remainder of 2020. This means you’ll be able to accumulate a few more miles on purchases at Shell in a variety of ways. However, not all promotional earning opportunities are available here in Atlantic Canada.

Shell Base Offers
Before I get to the special offers, here are the base earning rates at Shell:
- 1 Mile for every 10L of Shell V-Power premium fuels
- 1 Mile for every 20L of Shell Bronze, Silver and diesel fuels
- 1 Mile for every $5 spent in-store
Shell Go+ Member Benefits
These are the offers in effect for the remainder of 2020:
- 100% more miles when you buy 10L or more of Shell V-Power premium fuels
- 50% more miles when you buy 20L or more of Shell Bronze, Silver and diesel fuels
- 100% more miles when you spend $5 or more in-store
- Get 10 bonus miles when you redeem 95 miles toward your purchase
- Get 5x the base miles when you pay with your BMO Air Miles MasterCard
Atlantic Canada Exclusions
Two of the Shell Go+ offers are only available at participating locations in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and the Northwest Territories.
- 10 bonus miles when you buy an Ultimate Car Wash
- 20 bonus miles when you complete an in-store transaction of $20 or more
Conclusion
From now until the end of the year, Air Miles collectors can earn bonus miles through this extension of Shell Go+ membership benefits. Previously, the best offers I recall from Shell were the targeted email promotions where you’d receive a bonus upon completing a certain number of fill-ups in a month. The Go+ website mentions surprise bonus offers in addition to those detailed above, so hopefully some more good opportunities will appear. Any extra miles for minimal effort are most welcome.
Remember, one can also earn Air Miles at Irving gas stations here in Atlantic Canada. Perhaps Irving will come out with some bonus offers as well.

There doesn’t appear to be any opt-in or sign up necessary. No coupons required. It says they’ve “given” all collectors Shell Go+ membership for the remainder of the year so we’ll see what happens when 2021 rolls around.
