If you haven’t yet completed 3 or 5 offers for the Air Miles Mega Miles promotion, you have until September 10, 2020 to get it done. And if Sobeys, Foodland or Lawtons figure into your plans, you might also be able to take advantage of promos in their upcoming flyers.
Mega Miles
First a brief rant. It’s annoying how a few of the participating Air Miles partners have offers that are not valid for the full length of the big promos. Fortunately, the gas, grocery and drugstore partner offers here in Nova Scotia are all in effect until September 10, the last day of the Mega Miles promotion.
Shell – 25L fill up, 5 miles, opt in online
Sobeys – spend $150, get 5x miles, coupon required
Foodland – spend $100, get 5x miles, coupon required
Lawtons – spend $40, get 5x miles, coupon required
Pharmasave – buy 5 Pharmasave products, get 15 miles; spend $30 get 3x miles; spend $60 get 10x miles (Sept. 4-6), coupon required
Needs/Fast Fuel/Sobeys Express – spend $20, get 10 miles, opt in online
As for hardware stores, the Timber Mart and Kent offers go to the end of the promo as well, but Rona is now over. Check out the Mega Miles website for details on all the other remaining offers.
Remember, the 3 or 5 offers must be from different partner stores to trigger the 300 or 1000 mile bonus.
Sobeys Atlantic (Sept. 3-9, 2020)
There is an interesting offer in this week’s Sobeys flyer. When you spend at last $50, you get a personalized coupon on your receipt redeemable Sept. 10-16, 2020. I recently mentioned on the blog how the loadable offers for Sobeys and Foodland have seemingly become more generous as of late. This bonus opportunity will reach the folks who don’t bother loading their targeted offers.
From the Sobeys flyer:
The same bonus offer appears in the Foodland flyer. I noticed, however, that the Blue Bonus varies between the two. In the Sobeys flyer you need to buy 9 bags of Lays potato chips to get 95 Air Miles. At Foodland you only have to buy 6 (which is still a lot of chips) so one of them must be an error.
Lawtons Drugs Blue Friday (Sept. 4, 2020)
I’m not sure but I don’t believe there has been a Blue Friday since before the pandemic. We’ve seen the new “Max-A-Miles” flyer promotions which run the whole week but not many of these single day deals. In addition to the product specific offers in the flyer, you get 40 bonus miles when you spend $60 on Friday, September 4, 2020.
Bottom Line
It pays to stay on top of Air Miles earning opportunities – Mega Miles, loadable offers, flyer promos etc. For those of us hoping to use our Dream miles on a future trip, it’s nice to be able to boost our balances so we’ll be all set to book when the time comes. And for Cash miles collectors, whether you redeem for free groceries or you’re saving for something from The Bay or Staples, the points hobby can provide at least a little bit of distraction from the challenges of life these days.

To add to the rant : a few places I visited were unaware of the Megamiles dates / offers. So, looks like a leap of faith this year « if /no » bonus !
