The offers are now up on the Air Miles Bonus Boom website. It’s not the most exciting promotion ever but if you’re trying to add more miles to your account then it shouldn’t be too difficult to complete three offers. It looks like most of the usual Air Miles partners are participating this time.
Use 3 Offers, Get 95 Bonus Air Miles
I don’t remember previous Bonus Boom promotions having an extra bonus for using a certain number of offers. While the bonus at 95 miles is quite modest compared to the large ones with Mega Miles or Shop The Block, it’s still a welcome development. And I see from the FAQ that you can complete more than one offer at the same partner to count toward the 95 mile bonus as long as they are different offers. This makes it even better.
Check Offer Terms Carefully and Keep Your Receipts
Always read the terms closely for the applicable dates and requirements for each offer. For some you’ll need to opt-in online so make sure you follow the proper procedure to ensure the miles post correctly. Glitches are pretty common in these promotions and it’s not unusual to have to chase down the miles later. Fortunately, this doesn’t pose too much of a problem in terms of getting the missing miles.
If possible, try to avoid using any of the offers on the first day of the promotion. Sometimes not all partner retailers are set up for the promo right at the outset.
Air Miles Partner Offers
Some of these offers are only going to be useful for a small percentage of collectors. I mean, if you’d like to drink some Gatorade as you enjoy your brand new store-bought fire pit, then you’ll be very pleased.
Definitely look at all the offers to see if any line up with a purchase you’ve been planning to make. As for the simplest ones, I’d say the following fall into that category:
Sobeys and Foodland – if you collect Cash miles, redeeming 95 miles for 25 bonus miles is nice and easy
Shell – if you’re filling up anyway, you might as well collect the 15 bonus miles
Air Miles – sign up for Air Miles emails to get 25 miles if you haven’t already
Airmilesshops – if you have any online shopping to do, see if you can go through the Air Miles shopping portal
BMO Air Miles MasterCard Offer Terms
There are two offers for spending on a BMO Air Miles mastercard – one for 75 Air Miles when you spend $150 at participating partners and one for 125 Air Miles when you spend $200.
When you click on the opt-in link they appear aimed at different card categories:
Here’s how you can use your BMO AIR MILES Mastercard1 to get 75 Bonus Miles2:
and when you click on the other it says…
Here’s how you can use your BMO AIR MILES World Elite Mastercard, BMO AIR MILES Business Mastercard or BMO AIR MILES World Mastercard to get 125 Bonus Miles2:
But the terms and conditions for each are less clear. These are the cards eligible for the 75 mile bonus (bolding added):
Eligible credit cards include: BMO®† AIR MILES® Mastercard®*, BMO IGA AIR MILES Mastercard, BMO Sobeys AIR MILES Mastercard, BMO Shell®** AIR MILES Mastercard, and BMO Affinity AIR MILES Mastercard cards.
Yet the second offer, for 125 miles, includes some of the same cards…
Eligible credit cards include: BMO®† AIR MILES® World Mastercard®*, BMO AIR MILES World Elite Mastercard, BMO AIR MILES Mastercard for Business, BMO Gold AIR MILES Mastercard for Business, BMO AIR MILES Business Mastercard®*, BMO®†AIR MILES® No-Fee Business Mastercard®*, Shell®** AIR MILES® World Mastercard from BMO, Shell AIR MILES Mastercard from BMO, BMO Sobeys AIR MILES Mastercard, BMO IGA AIR MILES Mastercard.
So that’s a tad confusing.
Conclusion
Anyway, its no Mega Miles or Shop The Block but it’s an improvement on previous Bonus Boom promotions. Despite the meagre bonus for doing three offers, at least there is a bonus. And it’s nice to think about Air Miles and potential future travels when those miles can be put to good use.
