[UPDATE: the Mega Miles promo has been postponed] I see the Air Miles Mega Miles promotion website has now been updated with the participating partners. There are still no details about the individual offers. It also states that no paper coupon booklets will be available at retailers this year. You can instead access them on your mobile device or print them at home. As in the past, some of the offers will not require any coupon to be scanned.
For Nova Scotia, the partners seem to be most of the usual suspects including Sobeys, Foodland, Shell, Irving, Pharmasave, Lawtons, Kent, Timber Mart etc. Two notable omissions are Staples and NSLC although I suppose they could appear later. As long as the gas, grocery and drugstore offers are reasonably doable, it shouldn’t be terribly difficult to capitalize on this promo.
To max out the promotion and receive 1000 bonus miles, you need to complete offers at 5 different partners. If you do offers at 3 different partners, you’ll get 300 bonus miles.
It’s worth checking the partners in other provinces in case you want to coordinate your efforts with someone living elsewhere. For example, your friend in Ontario can use your Air Miles number at Metro while you use hers at Pharmasave here in Nova Scotia.
I also noticed in the email newsletter that a new Air Miles website is on the way. There had been talk of an updated website before but I’m not aware of any other changes coming to the program.
It’s a little weird to be talking about points and miles at the moment. With COVID-19 upending the travel plans of so many people, and the impending threat of widespread infection in North America, the thought of taking a trip has quickly faded, at least for me.
Your email inbox is likely filling up with notifications from various entities with information about measures taken and policies instituted as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Air Miles Travel Assistance page has been updated with information related to COVID-19. Note that if your flight is more than two weeks away, they ask that you wait to contact Air Miles so they can assist those with travel booked in the immediate future.
Regarding Mega Miles, we still need to buy things like gas and groceries to go on living, so we might as well accumulate some bonus miles to use when life returns to normal.
