If you’re planning to do any online shopping for Boxing Day deals, you’ll earn 10x the miles if you go though the Air Miles online shopping portal for purchases at participating merchants. This site-wide promotiom stacks with individual stores’ multiplier bonuses. It’s also a good opportunity to finish off Shop The Block which ends December 28, 2020.
10x Air Miles
I believe there was a one day airmilesshops.ca promo earlier in the month but this Boxing Week promotion lasts nearly a week (December 26-31, 2020) so you have some time to look for bargains and weigh your options.
Watch for stores offering an additional Air Miles bonus and check around for Boxing Day promo codes at certain retailers. For example, an email from Hudson’s Bay mentioned using the code EXTRA to save 10% on clearance items.

Exclusions
It’s important to read the “Store Info” page for each business listed on the airmilesshops.ca website. Not every purchase will qualify to earn Air Miles and the 10x bonus.
For instance, here are the exclusions at Walmart:
Electronics, groceries, baby products and video games are excluded. Purchases from Pharmacy, Financial Services, Tires, Optical, Walmart Photo Centre, Gift Cards, Online Gift Cards, and items picked up in store are not eligible for Miles.
Gift cards are specifically excluded at the vast majority of stores and this is stated on the store’s listing. Two exceptions I’m aware of are Rona and Indigo. I made a purchase last month where I added a gift card to my Indigo order to bring the total over $100 to satisfy the Shop The Block offer terms. It worked perfectly giving me the 30 mile STB bonus, the 10x site-wide bonus, a 3x Indigo bonus and the base miles, all of which posted within a few days. (FYI – if you’re looking for a nice 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle, Ravensburger’s Piccadilly Circus is a good one and is in stock online at Indigo as of posting.)
Shop The Block
The major Air Miles promo, Shop The Block, ends on December 28th. The airmilesshops.ca offer requires members to spend $100 in a single transaction to receive 30 bonus miles. Be aware that airmilesshops.ca transactions can pose a challenge as the miles don’t always post correctly or take a very long time to show up. If the purchase does not get processed until after STB ends or if multiple items in one order are dealt with separately, you may have to follow up with Air Miles to get your completion bonus.
Conclusion
If you’re going to do any shopping over the next few days you should definitely consider the various online shopping portals to get some extra value for your purchase. If you’re an Air Miles collector, this 10x bonus is a handy way to increase your balance. Just make sure you’re aware of the exclusions and be prepared to chase down the miles later if necessary.
