If you’re thinking of buying something online, May 23, 2020 might be a good day to do it. There’s a one day promo to earn 15x the Air Miles on purchases made through airmilesshops.ca. If you’re lucky, the individual store you’re purchasing from will have its own multiplier bonus as well.
You may have noticed that a few of the usual partner stores have been missing from airmilesshops.ca since Covid-19 came around. These include Amazon, The Bay, and Bed Bath and Beyond. There may be others. Perhaps they’ll eventually return.
Note that gift cards are excluded from eligibility to earn miles at the vast majority of retailers. The two exceptions I’m aware of are Rona and Indigo. Indigo happens to have its own 5x bonus as well.
Obviously these shopping portal multiplier bonuses that allow you to earn extra miles are most convenient when there’s something at one of the participating stores you’ve been planning to buy anyway and the timing works out in your favour.
While this one day offer doesn’t appeal to everyone, the fact that Airmiles is testing the waters is – in itself – a good sign.
There will surely be other offers to come in June & summer, hopefully to encourage a population that might be reluctant to travel… and that travellers find to their liking !
