The best recurring Air Miles offer is back in the Sobeys flyer along with a similar promo in the Foodland flyer. With the current quest to complete five offers in the Mega Miles promotion, these bonuses are conveniently timed. And if you’re not an avid points collector, now is a good time to get up to speed with Air Miles and learn how to maximize your grocery shopping.
Sobeys (Atlantic)
Buy $200 in Sobeys gift gards, get 100 Air Miles or a 25 cents per litre fuel voucher. Limit of 5 per collector.
This is a no-brainer for any Air Miles collector, especially here in the Maritimes where we can use Sobeys gift cards at Lawtons or Shell (if attached to a Needs or Sobeys Express).
It’s especially good because it lasts for the full duration of the flyer when it’s usually limited to three days.
There are also a couple of interesting bonus offers for specific items in the flyer. There is 100 miles for spending $25 on participating General Mills products. However, unlike a few weeks back when you could stack it with a Blue Bonus on Cheerios, this time the cereal for the Blue Bonus are Kellogg’s brand. There is also an offer on participating Quaker products.
To round out the bonus offers of note is the 50 miles for every $50 spent on Happy Active prepaid cards useable at Golf Town, Cabela’s, Running Room and Sport Chek.
The Mega Miles offer for Sobeys is spend $150, get 5x the miles. So, you can buy a gift card to pay for your groceries, then use any remaining funds on it at Lawtons or Shell to complete those offers as well.
Foodland (Atlantic)
Buy $100 in Foodland gift cards, get 50 Air Miles. Limit of 5 per collector.
This time there is a similar gift card promotion at Foodland minus the fuel voucher option. It also goes August 20 – 26, and like Sobeys, the gift cards may also be used at Lawtons or Shell.
The Mega Miles offer for Foodland requires spending $100. Gift cards don’t count but it’s an easy extra 50 bonus miles if you buy the gift card and then turn around and use it to buy the groceries.
Bottom Line
If you’re a regular customer at Sobeys, Foodland, Lawtons or Shell you should definitely take advantage of these Sobeys/Foodland gift card offers. Although promotions like last week’s “Max-A-Miles” bonus offers are appreciated, they depend heavily on your purchasing habits. Sometimes you’re lucky and there are bonuses on products you buy, but other times they’re of no use whatsoever. Getting these bonus miles simply for buying gift cards to use on anything is a slam dunk.

I could be wrong, but if the Sobeys flyer link is correct, the Sobeys offer is a tad different : 50 bonus airmiles for a 100$ gift card. It is usually 100 miles for 200$…

Foodland is 50 bonus miles for $100 gift card and Sobeys is 100 miles for $200 gift card. I added a screenshot from the Sobeys flyer just now.
