I generally like Air Miles promotions and coupons but this one bugs me a little. An email went out directing you to a website for the “Bonus Boom” event. It displays various offers in similar fashion to the major promotions like Mega Miles and Shop The Block. But this is no such promo. It’s merely a collection of coupons. There is no threshold number of offers that will trigger a big bonus. So it’s not really much of a “boom” in my opinion.
There are some decent offers however like the “Spend $100, Get 50 Air Miles” at Sobeys. It’s not product-specific and if the timing works with your grocery shopping routine then it’s a good opportunity. Same with other Air Miles partners like Kent. Still, at least those two are the same coupons as in the flyers.
The coupons to be ignored, at least for now, are the ones like the Rewarding Your Opinions survey sign-up or the MissFresh meal kit service. You might need to use one of those on the next Shop The Block promotion to get you to the right number of coupons. If you do one of these first-timer offers during this non-promotion you’ll lose the chance to use it in the future.
Targeted Promos
In addition to the “Bonus Boom”, watch your email for various promotions exclusive to your account. Lawtons and Shell offer these quite frequently along with BMO and Amex if you are the holder of an Air Miles credit card.
Mega Miles Bonus
In other news, the Mega Miles bonus has posted and fortunately mine and those of most of my family members posted correctly. As usual, there are a few accounts that were shortchanged. Depending on who you get on the phone or in the live-chat it can be fairly easy to get the missing miles added. Just be ready with the dates of your transactions and any receipts where necessary.
